Crossroads Community Ministries is an organization dedicated to helping homeless people to move toward economic and personal self-sufficiency.  Clyde Corbin and his staff at Clyde’s Kitchen, the soup kitchen of the ministry, tirelessly serve hundreds of people food each day.  By the end of December, Clyde will have served over 3,000,000 meals.  The JMWilliams team began volunteering with Clyde earlier this year, providing sandwiches and serving meals once a month with Clyde and his team.

For our Christmas project this year, JMWilliams employees contributed financially to provide 254 backpacks full of hygienic items, warm socks, hats and gloves, and a few Christmas treats to people who come to Clyde’s Kitchen.  We are grateful to have the opportunity to contribute to such a worthy cause during this season of giving and celebration.  Last Wednesday, some employees from the Marietta office drove downtown to serve lunch and distribute the backpacks during a special Christmas meal.  Four members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra played melodic holiday tunes to the backdrop of a beautifully decorated Christmas tree, while guests enjoyed hearty meals prepared by generous volunteers and Clyde himself.  It was truly a festive and joyful meal.  Attendees were presented with their backpacks after eating.

Above are some pictures from the “backpack pack” at our Marietta office as well as the time we spent at Clyde’s kitchen serving the meal and distributing the backpacks to guests.

We want to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season, and are looking forward to continuing to work with Crossroads in the upcoming year.  Merry Christmas to all, and a Happy New Year!
